Stop Big App Downloading on iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad

If you’ve kicked off the download of an app from the Apple App Store on your iOS device and then realised it’s huge and not worth the bother you can now, since iOS 4.3.1, stop it completely by simply deleting it.
This is particularly useful if you’re on a slow connection or if you’ve just changed your mind.
To stop the app downloading, tap and hold the icon until it starts wobbling.
Now tap the X and confirm by tapping the Delete button.
The download will stop immediately.
You also have the option of pausing the download like you always did by just tapping the app icon once during the download.
This was recently tested on an iPhone 3GS running iOS 4.3.2.
UPDATE June 2011:
This feature has been removed from iOS 4.3.3.  This was hopefully an error on Apple’s part.
An update will be posted here as soon as iOS 4.3.4 is released.
