Share Your iPhone Internet Connection With iPad Using Personal Hotspot

For those of you who didn’t for out for the 3G iPad or even if you did but haven’t got a data plan yet you can now quite easily piggy back on your iPhones 3G or wifi connection over Bluetooth using iOS 4s Personal Hotspot feature.
You can share your iPhones connection with any compatible Bluetooth or USB device such as an iPad, other tablet, laptop, etc.
This tip concentrates on the connecting an iPad by Bluetooth to an iPhone 3GS but many other device combinations should work just as well.
On your iPad I first recommend turning off Wi-Fi and Cellular Data options to avoid any confusion.
Here’s how to do it:
On the iPhone:
1. Tap Settings > Personal Hotspot > ON
2. Tap Settings
3. Tap General > Network > Bluetooth > ON
On the iPad:
1. Tap Settings > Wi-Fi > OFF
2. Tap Settings > General > Network > Bluetooth > ON
3. When the iPhone is listed as a device, tap it to start pairing.
4. Back on the iPhone, tap the iPad  from the list of devices to start pairing.
5. Both devices will display a message with a code. Dismiss these messages.
As soon as the devices connect via Bluetooth a blue bar will appear at the top of the iPhone indicating that the Personal Hotspot is active.
Likewise, on the iPad, a symbol of a pair of linked chains will appear in the top left corner indication that it is using a Personal Hotspot connection.
