Keep Your iOS Device Cool To Save Battery Life – iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch

The single biggest battery draining problem for Lithium batteries, which is the type that your iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch uses, is HEAT.
Exposing your device to heat between 20 and 60 degrees centegrade can cause a permanent reduction in capacity of your battery by 20% – 40%.
Whilst this happens over time it is an eye opener and would certainly make me think twice about leaving my iOS device in my car on a sunny day, even in the glovebox.
Ideally, you should keep your device at around room temperature and whilst you’re obviously not going to be monitoring the temperature of the environment you use or store you device in all the time it is definitely worthwhile to have an awareness of where you leave it down.
I’m certainly not going to start bringing an ice pack with me to make sure my iPhone battery lasts longer but it does raise the question – is keeping my iPhone in my pocket next to my body reducing battery life?  Bring on the Man Bag!
