Delete a Gmail Email With Archiving Enabled on iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad

If you’re a regular user of Gmail on an iOS device and have added your Gmail account to your iPhone, you’ll notice that the ‘Delete’ button has been replaced with an ‘Archive’ button in the Mail app.
This feature can be toggled on and off in the account settings but what if you want the best of both worlds – archive some mails and maybe delete others?
My way around this is to use the Move feature.  Here’s how to do it:
To delete multiple emails from the Inbox view (or any other view/folder) -
  • tap the Edit button on the top toolbar
  • mark the emails you want to delete
  • tap the Move button on the bottom toolbar
  • tap the Trash folder
To delete a single email while you’re reading it -
  • tap the Move button on the bottom toolbar
  • tap the Trash folder
