UPS Tracking Directly From Mail on iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad

There are iOS features that are so hidden and so undocumented that you’d need a shed load of time to seek them all out.  Luckily there’s iOS Tips for that!
The Mail app on your iOS device has all sorts of intelligence built-in which you’ve probably discovered such as detecting phone numbers, dates and email addresses from right inside an open email.
A well undocumented piece of clever thinking however is the ability to detect UPS tracking numbers.
If you open an email with a UPS tracking number it will immediately be detected and turn from normal text to a blue link.
Tapping this link will pop up a new context menu with two options, Track Shipment or Cancel.
Simply tap Track Shipment to be whisked off to the UPS tracking website where the details of your shipment will be displayed.
This secret tip has been verified on an iPhone 3GS running iOS 4.3.3 tracking my recent iPad 2 shipment from the Apple Store :)
