The sound equaliser built into all iOS devices may give a great boost to some music genres.
It’s especially good when using external speakers but the EQ does take it’s toll on your iOS devices battery life too.
I’d suggest keeping it off when you don’t need it which for me is almost always.
Here’s how to do it -
1. Tap Settings > iPod (Music on iPod) > EQ
2. Select Off from the list
This was tested on an iPad 2 and iPhone 3GS running 4.3.2 and on an iPod Touch 2G running 4.0.2.
