How To Select Default Calendar on iPhone, iPad or iPod Touch

If you have multiple calendars installed and configured on your iOS device you may not be happy with the one that has been selected as the default calendar when you create new entries.
It’s simple enough to change this setting.
Here’s how to do it:
1.  Tap Settings > Mail, Contacts and Calendars
2.  Scroll to the bottom
3.  Tap Default Calendar
4.  Select your default calendar from the list and tap Home button to exit.
There is a message at the bottom of the settings page that says: New events created outside of a specific calendar will default to this calendar.
This message is a bit of mystery to me, at least on iPhone, as you cannot ever be ‘inside’ a particular calendar.
Comment below if you’ve any thoughts on this mysterious message.  I’m guessing it will disappear in future iOS releases.
This was tested on iOS 4.3.3 on an iPhone 3GS.
